Dr Sarah Donovan is dually qualified as a Pain Medicine physician and Anaesthetist and has a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Medicine. She completed her medical training in Trinity College Dublin and emigrated to Australia in 2009 where she commenced her anaesthetic training. Following receipt of her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetist she then turned to her passion which was pain medicine and trained at the Alfred hospital and the Austin Hospital and developed skills in interventional pain medicine at Pain Matrix, Geelong.
She was awarded her fellowship in Pain Medicine in 2019 and works almost exclusively as a Specialist Pain Physician. She works in both the public and private sectors and holds appointments at Alfred Health and Northern Health as well as Pain Matrix, located at St John of Gods Hospital, Berwick. She consults weekly in Berwick where, following initial assessment, she aims to set out a holistic patient-centred pain management plan including evidence-based interventions where applicable.
