Dr Akilan Velayudhan

Dr Akilan Velayudhan is an Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician. He is consulting privately at Pain Matrix Eastern in Box Hill. After graduating from India, Dr Velayudhan completed specialist training in Anaesthesia and Pain Management in the UK, Canada, and Australia. With over 10 years of experience as a Pain Specialist in multidisciplinary teams across these countries, he holds Fellowships from the Faculty of Pain Medicine (Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists), the Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK and Ireland), and the World Institute of Pain (Interventional Pain Practice). Akilan has published studies and articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international medical conferences. Akilan strongly believes in a holistic approach to chronic pain management and uses various pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies such as interventional therapy, physical therapy and psychological approach in the overall management of chronic pain. Akilan aims to assist local physicians, surgeons, and general practitioners by offering his expertise to aid in the diagnosis and management of chronic pain conditions.
